Creating art for other artists is such a huge passion of mine. This was one of my favorite projects of all time. I was able to work with Revolt Revolt, a band I've loved for a long time, and create for them a look and feel for their new album, released August 2015.
I really wanted to create for them something special and unique. Something that seemed tangible and raw, the way that their album sounded to me when I got a first listen earlier that Spring.
I worked with a photo that they loved and manipulated it by hand. I printed it, destroyed it (several times) and scanned it back in to create a very organic and hand-made look. The result was something the band and myself were super proud of.
From there, I've created posters, advertisements, and Facebook banners, all within the style of their new album.
Illustrations, especially character illustration, is something I love doing. I have done vector illustration work for a huge lists of clients, including Microsoft, Zillow, Citrix, OwlCrate, and Spear Craft Book Box
Lou Arcudi Yoga
Lou Arcudi, a Yoga instructor in Boston, Massachusetts, needed a modern and bright logo for his new Yoga class business. My goal was to create something modern and familiar, with the ability to change in color and dimension throughout different applications and uses.
One of the poses Lou had called out in the very beginning was the Lotus Pose. I began tracing the shape of this pose and came up with a very familiar shape, resembling not only the pose itself, but also an A, for Arcudi.
I introduced color and showed Lou ways to incorporate this shape onto photos and future business cards.
I had the pleasure of working for an amazing cause called Combat Blindness International, with their 2015 and 2016 Galas in Madison, Wisconsin. I created for them several pieces of collateral, including an event poster, invitations and the event program.
"We had Catherine design invitations, posters and programs for a major annual fund raising event. She was simply amazing to work with. She captured the vision of our organizations style right away and what we wanted to communicate. She was extremely fast in responding with every edit and kept to our needed timeline. I would work chose to work with Catherine many times based on the quality and service she provided." -Melissa White, Combat Blindness
I love the chance to work on branding projects. To really dive into a client's mission and vision and create for them something that they are proud to show off, and something that represents such an important message about who they are is really exciting. Here are a few logos that I created and love.
Gradient Films produces commercial and documentary videos that are truly unique and inspiring. Everything they make looks like a work of art; and I was given the task of creating their logo.
The concept that was chosen represents who they are at the heart of everything: adventurers and creatives willing to take risks.
The Babson Breakaway Challenge is a competition and mentoring program that champions women entrepreneurs and aspiring venture capitalists; giving 6 women-led start-ups and 6 venture capital apprentices six weeks of mentoring, as well as award the winning start-up with $250,000 in funding.
This was such an inspiring and exciting project, in which I was able to create for them the materials and website to promote this challenge nationally.
Shaudi Bianca Vahdat
Shaudi Bianca Vahdat is a Seattle-based musician and theatre artist. Her vocal and performance style reflect a diverse training in jazz, musical theatre, classical, and both American and Iranian folk music.
I was honored when Shaudi reached out to me asking if I would create the album artwork for her new EP entitled "Left". We worked together on a style that portrayed a tangible and organic feel, but also reflected the wonder and magic that is her music.
This was such a fun project to work on! The Joe Coffee App allows customers to place an order of their favorite coffee drink at their favorite cafe, and pick it up within minutes.
My goal was to create something simple and seamless, so that the user is able to quickly learn how to place an order on their first try, making it an enjoyable experience, and one that they will come back to again and again.
Dandylines is a trade show that focuses on specialty gifts and food. Each bi-yearly show has a completely new theme from the last.
For each, I am able to create show sheet templates, a brochure, and a prize wheel.
Here are a few items from the last two shows.
Whale and Dolphin Conservation
My first "real" gig after college was volunteering as the Graphic Designer for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation; the largest conservation in the world dedicated to whales. The joy that I get out of working for such an amazing cause is hard to put into words.
I've worked on so many projects for them. From illustrations, to children's books; newsletters to event invitations and collateral; to campaigns for NOAA and the US Sailing Organization.
Here are a few of my favorites.
Hand lettering is such a huge passion of mine. So much so, that I usually spend my free-time doodling quotes, phrases, and song lyrics to get it out of my system. Here are a few of my favorites.
Sometimes I make videos of the places I've been. Here are a few of my favorites.
